We join our community in mourning the loss of Josh

We join our community in mourning the loss of Josh Rogers, President and CEO of @newtownmacon. Josh touched The Grand deeply, just as he did in so many places in @downtownmaconga. Josh was a dedicated Broadway subscriber who loved to share his tickets with his staff, and served on our Board of Governors. As a supporter to our Marquee Fund with his wife Meaghan, it's not his first time on the marquee, and his name graces our lobby plaque. He was known to cheer us on for all our big moments, from our Grand Reveal in 2018 to just last month when we announced our naming partnership with Piedmont. Josh was there, ready to applaud for Macon's success. In the last photo, he stands at The Grand with other Macon luminaries as we received an award from the Fox Theatre Institute.Josh was certainly a doer, who believed in the power of our community. He said: "I believe one of the reasons Macon boasts so many of these handmade treasures is that it has a supernatural power to attract the world’s doers. I love that so many Maconites share a passion for and ability to change the world. Finally, I also appreciate the urgency of changing Macon. I feel it is not only effective, but necessary. As our current generation works to knit ourselves back together as Maconites, we build trust. Together, that trust enables us to accomplish almost any task. This generation may be the most important, effective and beautiful in all the thousands and thousands that came before and I am proud to be a part of it."Just as his etched name marks our lobby, small pieces of Josh are all around us. Our thoughts are with Meaghan, Jack and Ellie as we process this loss.
