The 4th Annual Black Excellence Awards

The Black Excellence Awards was created to highlight and celebrate the unique efforts and distinctive works of the recipients being recognized in making our city greater and our culture better. Being that this is the fourth installment of this event, and the fact that we have the pleasure of displaying it within the Grand Opera House this year, we are adamant on showcasing how much we appreciate these people and the greatness they possess and display, daily, unselfishly. Hosted by the legendary poet Beau Ward, we are privileged to witness an amazing array of talent and community activists and business leaders that mean so much to a city that needs that directional change from within.

With a prominent list of past recipients such as D.A. Anita Reynolds Howard, Habersham Records, Homeland Village, Leon Jones, Elizabeth McCane, Marshall Talley, Coach Mann, and countless others from our elders to the youngest recipient at 12-years-old, we are destined to celebrate with class and a measure of confidence in this years hashtag catchphrase that “We Are Here” – this year, that definitely means much more than usual.
