Symphony, redesigned with you in mind. The first season of the symphony was anything but ordinary. From hip-hop to Haydn, from Otis Redding Foundation students to beloved classical composers, the orchestra was the place to be. The Grand Opera House was filled with the joy of music, the power of community and Mercer University’s McDuffie Center Young Artists collaborating with musicians from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. So don’t miss out – become a subscriber for the 2022-2023 season and experience music in its grandest form. Major funding for the Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra is provided by the Peyton Anderson Foundation.

To open the second season of Macon’s smash success symphony, we celebrate the homecoming of Roderick Cox, the Macon-born superstar conductor garnering worldwide recognition. This lighthearted program borrows from epic love stories across a number of cultures, from Smetana’s comic opera The Bartered Bride to Ravel’s mythic ballet Daphnis et Chloé to Bernstein’s Broadway West Side Story.
