The Devon Allman Project with special guest Duane Betts

Hard to believe that it’s been almost a year since we lost our good friend Gregg Allman.  Fortunately, The Grand was just offered the chance to secure a date with Gregg’s son, who has been touring all year with Duane Betts, the son of Dickie Betts, as his guest performer.  How could we say no?  Come to The Grand to celebrate a different part of the Allman legacy, even as we also remember Gregg and how much he meant to all of us here.  The Devon Allman Project, with special guest Duane Betts, serves up that great Southern rock 21st Century-style, and certainly since it’s his first headlining gig at his father’s favorite Macon venue, it’s going to make for a very special night. Make an Allmans weekend of it in Macon!  Make sure to visit The Allman Brothers Museum at the Big House, get a map of Allman sites around town (including Rose Hill Cemetery, College Street, and much more), have lunch at the famous H&H Restaurant, and catch all the fabulous Allmans music happening downtown.

Black Jacket Symphony: Journey Escape

he Black Jacket Symphony offers a unique concert experience through recreating classic albums in a live performance setting. A selected album is performed in its entirety by a group of handpicked musicians specifically selected for each album, with no sonic detail being overlooked--the musicians do whatever it takes to musically reproduce the album. The performance is separated into two sets. The first set features the album being recreated as a true symphonic piece. The second set, which features a selection of the album artist's "greatest hits," opens in full contrast to the first set with an incredible light display and the symphony being much more laid back. The tone is set very quickly that the show will feature the high level of musicianship of the act being covered and will also be accompanied by all the bells and whistles of a major rock and roll show. Tickets are $25 and $30.
