Macon Mercer Symphony Orchestra
Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra (MMSO) is a groundbreaking intergenerational collaboration between emerging artists of the McDuffie Center and principal musicians from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to bring the grand power of symphony music back to Macon, conducted by GRAMMY award winner Ward Stare. Community collaboration gives voice to local stars and amplifies them on stage. The symphony will play an expansive program, from Beethoven to hip-hop. We want to be a vibrant gathering place for Middle Georgia to come together and celebrate. More music will be Macon’s #MondayMotivation. Major funding for the Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra is provided by the Peyton Anderson Foundation.

The second concert opens with the powerful and dramatic tone poem Egmont Overture by Beethoven and concludes with the immensely popular Italian Symphony of Felix Mendelssohn. Beulahland Gospel Choir joins the show in orchestrated spirituals arranged by celebrated Macon Pops conductor Matt Catingub.
