What is the main requirement regarding tickets?
The Grand goes by the “lap rule”: every person who sits in a seat must have a ticket, so if your child is small enough to sit in your lap, then they do not need a ticket. Usually this applies to children 2 and under.

Can you mail me The Grand Opera House schedule?
Please call the box office and we will be glad to send you a schedule!

What is the dress code for The Grand Opera House?
There is no specific dress code for The Grand. Some events such as opening nights will draw a dressier crowd. Most people enjoy dressing up to go to the theatre, but you will see people wearing everything from casual to Sunday best.

What are the Box Office Hours?
The Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10a.m. to 5p.m. During events, the Box Office opens an hour and a half before show time, and doors to The Grand open a half hour before the show

Where do I find information about directions/parking?
The Grand Opera House has ample parking facilities from the lot directly to the right of the theater to parallel parking offered on the street.

How can I purchase Gift Certificates?
Gift certificates are available in any denomination by calling the Box Office at (478) 301-5470. You can also purchase them in person at our box office located at 400 Poplar Street in downtown Macon.

Does The Grand Opera House offer Group Tickets?

How do I find out what shows are playing at The Grand?
A listing of current shows and events can be found in our Season Calendar section.

Does The Grand offer student/children/discount tickets?
The Grand does not usually offer student/children tickets, but feel free to call the Box Office at (478) 301-5470 for more information on any specific show.

Can I reserve tickets over the phone?
If you would like to purchase tickets via telephone, please contact the Box Office at (478) 301-5470 or you can purchase on-line on our homepage.

How do I get season tickets?
For new subscribers, season tickets go on sale July 7th. Call the Box Office at (478) 301-5470 to purchase your tickets.
How do I contact the Lost and Found department?

Where is The Grand Opera House located?
The Grand Opera House is located in downtown Macon at the intersection of Second Street and Mulberry Street. The Grand offers easy interstate access, providing a smooth entrance and exit for performances and events.   

Is the facility wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The Grand Opera House is ADA compliant. Please call the Box Office at (478) 301-5470 with any special needs or seating requests.

Who manages and operates The Grand Opera House?
The Grand operates under the auspices of Mercer University.
Is there an elevator in The Grand Opera House?
No. Unfortunately, the building is too old for an elevator, so anyone sitting in the balcony must be comfortable climbing stairs.

Does The Grand offer refunds for tickets?
The Grand Opera House does not offer any refunds for tickets.

Are the boxes good seats?
The box seats are the most economical of all the sections offered at The Grand, however the view can be limited for a Broadway show. However, they are good seats for concerts and musical reviews.
