
Middle Georgia Youth Ballet performs Graduation Ball in their 2008 Cherry Blossom Performance
A Grand Afternoon of Song and Dance will feature 2 ballet performances by members of the Middle Georgia Youth Ballet and song provided by the Mercer Children's Choir.
Les Patineurs is a ballet in one act and was choreographed in 1937 by Sir Frederick Ashton set to music by Giacomo Meyerbeer composed for the opera Le Prophete and for this performance is rehearsed by Alice Sheridan. Les Patineurs is a charming and playful ballet about skaters and skating, and a quaint picture of winter recreation from 70 years ago.
Where the Wild Things Are features the original choreography of MGYB faculty member Linsday Misch and is inspired by the award winning children's book by Maurice Sendak. Fun for all ages, this ballet tells the story of Max who was sent to bed without supper and his subsequent adventures in the forest of his imagination. Let the wild rumpus start!!!
The Mercer University Children's Choir is an auditioned group of 50 voices ranging in age from 7 – 15 years and is directed by Dr. John E. Simons . Through their participation in the choir, students learn to read music, use proper vocal technique, develop creativity, form healthy relationships and give an artistic gift to the community.
Tickets: Advance Sales $10.00 Adults $8.00 Students and Seniors. All tickets are $10.00 at the door. All tickets are General Admission.
