Performance: May 15 at 7:30 PM

Best of Broadway Does is a culmination of the upbeat cabaret-style performance blending Broadway-inspired vocal stylings with the eclectic atmosphere of an intimate lounge show in downtown Macon that we have been doing for the past four years! We will bring back some of the biggest hits with some of our best singers. From the 80s and 90s to Punk and Country, from Southern Rock and Soul to Christmas and Halloween, sing your way to a campy, fun evening with us. Supported by the Linda Harriet Lane Fund.

WHAT TO PREPARE

Prepare at least 16 bars for the audition. Creativity, humor and adding some Broadway flair is encouraged in interpreting and re-interpreting your song, and song selection is not limited by gender identity or sexuality. Please note that not all submissions will be accepted into the show. Important: Be sure there is sheet music for piano and voice available for your song. This will be necessary to be selected.

For this particular cabaret, we will only be selecting previous Broadway Does Cabaret singers. Those chosen to be featured for Best of Broadway Does are required to attend a 3-hour rehearsal with the band on the evening of May 14th. This is a non-negotiable rehearsal date.

Feel free to have as much fun in your audition as you can – these can be fresh, campy, funny interpretations of these songs! The only limitation is that the song must have previously been in Broadway Does. It does not have to be a song that you have sung previously. A full list of approved songs is here. A committee will select the final singers.

Please email us (morrison_j@mercer.edu) or message us on Facebook with questions.

This show has a low-commitment rehearsal schedule with 1-2 rehearsals scheduled prior to the performance, with much of the preparation for your song being done on your own.
